Ibotta is the main rebate app I use.
I am not affiliated with Ibotta or any of the stores or products mentioned. I am merely explaining the app in the following since so many have asked. This is a simple explanation and walkthrough for any unfamiliar with the app.
You can use my referral code to sign up:
kpxfeqi
I will get a referral bonus and sometimes, (I am not sure at the current moment), whoever signs up using my code gets one as well.
I have it on my phone and also have it downloaded as an extension to my computer. I do not use my computer's ibotta often but it is there just in case something pops up I wish to order online.
On the phone it shows as "ib" icon for me. When you have signed in and clicked on it a page will come up with a bar at top to search as well as barcode to scan an item if you have it in hand. There is a banner of special promotions or advertisements.
Then you will see a list of stores. I'll use Wal-Mart as an example because it is the one I use most often.
After you choose your store you'll have the search bar on top to see if there is an item in the rebates of the store you have selected available. Another option is to scroll down through them to see what all is available.
Right now there are several Snuggle rebates available. You click on the picture and it should pull up the page showing the details of the rebate. The Snuggle has .75 back with a limit of 5 times. It also qualifies for a bonus. Scroll down and there is a button to even check the product's barcode to see if it qualifies for this rebate.
Scroll down further you can see the bonus it qualifies for, which you can click for details. The Snuggle qualifies for the Snuggle Bonus which is 1.00 and you have to buy one Snuggle Fabric Softener and one Snuggle Scent Booster. This Bonus expires 09/20/21. Then it gives you a list of products that qualify that have bonuses available. If I wish to buy the item then I will click it, making sure it is checked before moving to the next item.
You can just hit back to go back to the original Snuggle to view. It has a list of stores that have this product rebate available. The Snuggle has Wal-Mart as the only store listed. Further down it also has a list of different Snuggle products also viewed.
Once you have bought your products, you will hit the redeem option at the bottom of your screen or in the store's product list there is sometimes the option. If you hit redeem you will see a list of stores, select the one which you shopped. Mine would be Wal-Mart. It brings up a screen showing basically you are ready to redeem offers from a recent visit. Then it will sometimes ask for access to your camera. You will either take a picture of your receipt or there will be a barcode scanner that you use to scan the barcode of the receipt.
Yes, sometimes there is an issue and the barcodes won't pick up or the receipt didn't print dark enough, etc. You have the option to enter the T# generally located right above the barcode. Sometimes the items will automatically pick up, others you will need to verify more items or it will even take you to the list of items you have selected from that store. Check any items that didn't automatically pick up and it will ask you to scan the item to verify you bought it.
After making sure every item you wish to get a rebate for is selected, there will be a total at bottom, you then hit the button to say you have finished selecting your rebates. It will let you know it is being processed. It can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few days depending on the store from my experience. Wal-Mart seems to go through automatically for me, but Kroger may take a few days.
There is a button on the bottom of the Ibotta's home screen that says "Earn More" When you click it then you can see a list of bonuses available. Clicking on each bonus will tell you what qualifies so you can earn that amount. Sometimes it may be a Level Bonus where you buy so many items within that month to reach different levels. Other times it may be a "Weekend Warrior" or a "Midweek Bonus" where you shopped in a certain period of days set to buy so many items to earn those bonuses. There are also bonuses such as the Snuggle Bonus listed above where you buy certain items or so many of an item to earn extra.
The final button is "Account". It will show your Current Earnings and your Lifetime Earnings. You must reach 20.00 to withdraw from your Ibotta account. I have mine connected to my Paypal so I can automatically have access once it is there. From my experience when I withdraw to Paypal it doesn't take very long to reach the account. Withdrawing to a bank may take a day or more and personally, I don't want my bank account attached to these apps.
Troubleshooting:
Sometimes things happen. There is always a chance with any program. If an item wasn't redeemed, but everything else on the receipt was. Then you can go to My Account, scroll down to My Earnings, select the receipt that the item didn't pick up on. It will show you how many offers were redeemed, the date, the store you shopped at, and at the very top corner of the right hand side it has a question mark. You can write to request a review. They will generally get back to you and want three things: 1. Picture of the receipt 2. Picture of the product 3. Picture of the product's barcode. As of now, Ibotta has been very timely with any of my requests and I have received my rebates.
And if you read all the way to the end.
Helpful Hint there is sometimes an option on bottom to select so you can see all the free offers and click to see what they are and what stores they are available at.
